FAQ

Why ain't we charging sales tax?

For customers outside our home state of Texas, we may not be required to collect sales tax due to state nexus and threshold rules.  If your cart does not show sales tax, we do not have to collect sales tax on your order; however, we do pay sales tax on items shipped to those states from our suppliers as necessary.  If you have any questions regarding this, please contact us.

When is my order getting here?

Most orders arrive within 5 to 7 business days, depending on how much rain, sleet, or snow is between here and yon, or if Newman is working.

Are your t-shirts good quality?  Some stores cheap-out on shirts.

We care very much about providing our customers with quality products.  They are made from soft, ring-spun cotton (and blends for certain colors), well-fitted, and we think you will agree that the quality is first rate.  Before deciding which t-shirts to sell, we personally tested and wore many different varieties from different suppliers.  The t-shirts we sell are t-shirts that we like to wear.  These ain't your dad's old scratchy boxy shirts.  For sizing, check out the size descriptions on each product page.

Can I get a refund if my shirt arrives damaged or is defective?

Yes.  We want you to be happy with your purchases and we also want to cut down on fraud and abuse, so we ask that you contact us if you are not satisfied with your purchase.  Items that arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect (wrong size, color, item, etc.) are eligible for a full refund. These items must be reported to us within 30 days of the purchase date.  See our Refund Policy for more information.

Will you spam me or sell my email address if I sign up?

NO!  And frankly, we find it annoying when we make a purchase and get endless daily emails from a store.  We will email you only on occasion when we have new products we think you might like, special promotions, holiday gift ideas, or sometimes just with a personal message to say "Hi."  We love to connect and get to know our customers better.  And if you have a fun idea for a shirt, send it our way.

I signed up but don't see your emails, what's up?

It may take a little bit for the emails to arrive.  Electrons travel faster than snail mail, but sometimes it takes a few minutes or maybe your email needs to be refreshed.  Also, remember to check your Junk or Spam folder and make sure they aren't winding up in there.  You can add cornbreadcreek.com to your safe senders list to avoid this entirely.  If none of that works, just pick up the soup can with the string tied to it and reach out to our customer service at custsvc@cornbreadcreek.com and we'll be happy to help figure out where the string got cut.

Do you eat more cornbread?

Yes we do!  And our recipe is a closely guarded family secret.  We love it with honey!

How about biscuits?

Cornbread > Biscuits, but we like 'em as big as a cat's head.

Biscuit Baking Queen Biscuits

1 Tbl baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 Tbl sugar
6 Tbl cold unsalted butter
¾ cup milk

  1. Preheat oven to 425F and line a cookie sheet with nonstick parchment paper.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a bowl set aside.
  3. Cut butter into small pieces and stir into to the flour bowl.
  4. Add milk and stir until combined, don't overwork it.
  5. Put the dough on a floured surface and work it with your hands adding flour gently if it's too sticky.
  6. When the dough is looking good, fold it in half and flatten
  7. Rotate the 90 degrees and fold in half again.
  8. Repeat 6 times.
  9. Flatten out to 1" thick and cut your biscuits using a soup can that the lid has been removed from top and bottom (old school).  Or just use a biscuit cutter.
  10. Mash up your dough, roll to 1" again, and cut until you can't make any more biscuits.
  11. Roll up what's left and make a biscuit log :)
  12. Put them all on a baking sheet and bake on 425F for 11-12 minutes.
  13. They should begin to turn lightly brown when done.
  14. Drizzle 'em with some butter or honey.  Mmmm.

Not gluten free.  Probably not very healthy.  Taste real good.  Bake at your own risk.
